Pipeline transportation has become the fifth largest transportation mode in the world after highway, railway, aviation and water transportation. Slurry pipeline transportation, as a new transportation mode, can be used to handle the problems of uneven regional distribution and difficulties in exploitation and utilization of energy and mineral resources in China. Pipeline transportation conforms to the national sustainable development strategies of safety, energy conservation, green environmental protection and land conservation, and the slurry pipeline transportation nowadays in China has begun to be used in long-distance cases, with the transported medium in high concentration or in multiple flow state, thus finding wide application in a lot of industries and various industrial fields, such as iron and steel metallurgy process in mines, transportation of concentrate and tailings in non-ferrous metals and non-metallic mines, cemented backfilling in mines, deep-sea mining, coal transportation, river and sea dredging, backfilling of oil well with gravel, transportation of chemical raw materials, transportation of power plant ash, among others.
In order to provide enterprises, universities and technical researchers a platform for exchanging engineering experience, scientific and technological achievements, up-to-date technologies, equipment and related information in the field of slurry concentration and pipeline transportation, as well as discussing the development trend and prospect of slurry concentration and pipeline transportation technologies, the Academic Committee on Slurry Concentration and Pipeline Transportation, together with Mineral Processing Branch of the Chinese Society for Metals, State Key Laboratory of Hydroscience and Engineering-TSINGHUA university, Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Co., Ltd., CINF Engineering Corporation Limited and Zhongye Changtian International Engineering Co., Ltd., are intended to organize the Fifth National Conference on Technologies and Equipment for Slurry Concentration and Pipeline Transportation in Changsha City of Hunan Province from April 20th to April 22nd, 2023. Some leaders from relevant government departments, famous experts and professors at home and abroad will be invited to give presentations and reports in the conference. All experts, scholars, engineering technicians at home and abroad in the field of slurry concentration and pipeline transportation technologies are welcome to the conference.
